Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 26^th November Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of 272 calves.  A good trade all round with weaned types dearer on the week.  Trade topped at £890 twice, firstly from Messrs Gott, Burton House for a 2 month old Blue bull and secondly from Messrs Airey, New Grange for an Augus bull; Messrs Johnston, Petteril Side had a 2 month Blue bull at £870; J & A Martin, Orton Grange had a 1 month old Blue at £785; BF Farm had Blues at 2 month to £810, Messrs Beard, Dormanstead sold to £780 and £770 at 2 months old along with Turnbull Farming; Messrs Pattinson, Kinkry Hill had 1 month Blues to £740;

Heifers sold to £750 for a 2 month Blue heifer from Messrs Shepherd, Crownstone;

Messrs Johnstone, Petteril Side also sold to same price; Angus heifers topped at £740 from Messrs Airey, New Grange.  Messrs Ramsay, Dockray Hall had 2 month Limousin heifers to same price and another at £720.  Turnbull Farming had 2 month Blue heifers to £730 (x2); Messrs Martin, Boggle Hall had Blue heifers at £710 and £700 at the same age
