A typical back end show of store cattle sees trade meeting some resistance with rumours of deadweight expected to drop 10p next week.
Topping the sale at £2,660 was a 28 month old Aberdeen Angus bullock from George Smith, Campingholm, with a Limousin bullock from Kelly Baxter, Edenbank and a Simmental bullock from Messrs Potter, Cardew House both making £2,540. Messrs Scott, Carrick Dean topped the dairy bred bullocks with a Fleckvieh at 21 months old reaching £2,180 and a Friesian from Thomas Moscrop, Ryeclose hot on its heels at £2,040. The Simmental took the top price slot in the heifer section at £2,440 from Messrs Potter, Cardew and the dairy heifers reached £2,070 with a Friesian from Messrs Baxter, Edenbank.
