On Wednesday 10^th December Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of 265 calves.  Storm Bram continued in ring 5 with young calves at new heights. Trade topped at £910 for three Aberdeen Angus bull calves from Messrs Paxton, Auchleach Farm, Stranraer. This consignment also had them to £820(x2) and £760. Messrs Livingstone, Kirtlevale had a great Limousin bull to £880. Messrs Ramsey, Lodge of Kelton had a pair of Aberdeen Angus bulls to £850. British Blue’s topped at £830 from TW Martin, Tempest Tower. MG & S Harper, West House had a Charolais bull to £810. Messrs Bailey, Moorhouse Hall had 4 week old Blues to £750 and £735. Messrs Farish, East Farm had 4 week Montbeliarde bulls to £710. A pair of Galloway bulls sold to £700(x2) from Kirkbog Farm.

Heifers topped at £800 from Messrs Paxton, Auchleach for an Aberdeen Angus. McCreery Farms had British Blue heifers to £740. Messrs Hill of Arlosh House had British Blue heifers to £720 and £710. Messrs Irving, Meinbank sold to £700. Black and whites sold extremely well with Messrs Gaitskell, High Field selling Holsteins to £490 at 2 months old. 3-6 week old black and whites regularly sold between £150 and £250.
