Borderway Weekly Sale of Calves

On Wednesday 9th June Harrison & Hetherington Limited held their sale of young calves with an entry of 313 rearing calves.  A quality show was presented to a strong ringside of buyers which ensured all classes were keenly bid for.  Topping the sale were a pair of Aberdeen Angus bulls from new customer Messrs Templeton, Wigtown selling for £555.  This great run of Aberdeen Angus and Holstein Friesian bulls for 30 averaged £400.  The same home topped the dairy bred calves at £365.  British Blues topped at £545 from Messrs Turnbull, Monks Farm. A good day’s trading was had for all vendors and a lot more calves could be sold to advantage with many purchasers going home short of requirement.
