Kirkby Stephen OTM & Cast Cows

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their sale of Cast & OTM Cattle on Monday.

Topping the sale at £1955.34 and 229.5p/kg was a 852kg pure bull from Messrs Raine & Davidson, Thorney Gale.
Cows topped at 214.5p/kg and £1673.10 for a 780kg 6 year old British Blue cross from Messrs Brown, Asby Hall, Great Asby which was bought by Owain Llyr, Ruthin.
Another 8 year old British Blue cross cow sold for £1510.94 weighing 789kg and making 191.5p/kg also selling to Owain Llyr.
All classes of cows and OTM cattle were the dearest seen for some time, with buyers looking for plenty of numbers of everything and many more could have been sold.
An unbelievable overall sale average of 155.23p/kg and £1089.76 was achieved.
The next sale at Kirkby Stephen for cast cows and OTM cattle is Monday 28^th June.
