Borderway Store Cattle Sale

A small entry of only 156 Store cattle forward for the last sale of 2025.  Buyers around the ringside were full of Christmas cheer and goodwill ensuring that who made it forward today saw trade as dear as ever, quite unbelievable to be honest with a days top of £2550 received for a 23 month old Charolais cross steer from Messrs Story, Blackrigg, Longtown.  Messrs Story also sold top priced Aberdeen Angus to £2440.  Messrs Mounsey, Wardhall Guards, Wigton peaked the British Blues to £2360 and two Hereford crosses from Messrs Henderson, East Bowhill, Annan reached £2340.

Heifers sold to a top of £2180 for a Dairy bred British Blue from Messrs Middleton, Stone House, Wigton.  Charolais to £2260 from Messrs Story, Blackrigg, Longtown and 16 month old Simmental to £2200 from Messrs Kennedy, Kingswood, Carlisle and Limousins sold to £2120 from Messrs Wilson, Low Farm, Penrith.

Black and white steers sold very well and peaked at £1980 for a pen of three from Messrs Wilson, Hardrigg Hall, Penrith.
