Borderway Weaned Cattle Sale

On Wednesday 17 ^th December Harrison & Hetherington held its final weaned bull and stirk sale in Ring 4 in Borderway.  A final sale of 162 were forward with a section average of £1119.25 being achieved.  71 bulls were forward topping at £1780 from Messrs Reay, West Moorhouses for a single Limousin bull whose run of 9 averaged £1610.  A great show of Ayrshire bulls were forward from Messrs Lindsay, Lanark topping at £1400.  Steers topped at £1780 from Messrs Beaty, Newton Field for some British Blue steers.  The same home topped Angus at £1720 and Limousins to £1760.  Heifers topped at £1920 for a superb black heifer from Messrs Reay.  Simmentals heifers topped at £1250 from Messrs Errington, Lowther Moor.  Limousin topped at £1700 from Messrs Nelson, Braithwaite who sold 4 to average £1597.50.
