On Monday 5th January Harrison & Hetherington the first store lamb sale took place in the 2026 Calendar. A similar show to previous weeks was witnessed. Topping the sale went to a single Texel lamb from Ian Armstrong, Shankfield selling to £145. Messrs Scott, Hayton Brow sold seven to £136 and £127. Beltex lambs topped at £131 from JM Thompson, Townfoot, for a sweet trio. The same home sold Cheviots to £118 for five. Suffolks topped at £132 again from Messrs Armstrong, Shankfield and Mules to £112 from the same home. Many more needed to satisfy demand.
