Borderway Weaned Cattle Sale

On Wednesday 7th January Harrison & Hetherington conducted their first sale of weaned bulls and stirks of 2026.  A total of 181 cattle were forward to average £1330.78.  A total of 69 bulls were for sale to average £1520. Topping went to a pure Limousin bull from John Eve, Stubbsgill selling an 18 month bull to £2510 and this 3 averaged £2466.  Messrs Dale-Sunley came with 15 superb Charolais bulls all 10-11 months to average £1794.  Messrs Armstrong, Milfield, Demense sold a single Angus bull to £2070.  Dairy bulls topped at £1290 for 3 Holstein Friesians from Messrs Smithson, Skelcies.  Blues topped at £2190 from Messrs Todhunter, Greyrigg.  Steers were once again a great trade with a section average of £1307.  Topping at £1920 for a Limousin from Kilnstown Farms, this run of 3 went to average £1826.  Blonde steers topped at £1760 from Messrs Noble, Egremont and Blues to £1810 from Messrs Hall, Kelsick House.  Heifers topped at £1480 from Messrs Mews, Hexham who sold six to average £1490.  Blues topped at £1430 from Messrs Scott, Seat House.
