On Monday 12th January Harrison & Hetherington held its weekly sale of store lambs in Borderway Market. A similar show on the week which saw stores dearer on the week with a total sale average of £112.72 being achieved. Topping the sale went to Mr Callum Pitchford, Carlisle selling a single Dutch Texel lamb to £142. Texels topped at £135 from Messrs Lumsdon, Brampton for a strong pair. Cheviots topped at £130 for four from Messrs Lamb, Girvan whose run of 65 went on to average £120. Mr Alan Hague, Whitehaven sold Mules that topped at £102 for 12. Blackfaced lambs sold to a top of £93 from Messrs Kinstrey, Canonbie.
Many more can be sold to advantage here in Borderway where a genuine trade for stores can be witness on a weekly basis.
