Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their first sale of cast and OTM cattle for the year with an opening entry of 41 forward.

Topping the pounds per head and pence per kilo at £3056.43 and 447.5p was a 683kg British Blue cow from Messrs Pedley, Oaktree Farm, Barbon and was purchased Owain Llyr.

Messrs Maughan, Ash Garth, Great Asby sold a six year old British Blue cross cow weighing 808kg to make 369.5p per kilo totalling £2985.56 purchased by D Barker, Scarborough.

Messrs Raine & Davidson, Thorneygale, Stainmore sold a 630kg British Blue cross cow to make 409.5p/kg totalling £2579.85.

Messrs Anderson, The Springs, Leyburn sold a  seven year old Limousin cross cow weighing 764kg to make 347.5p kilo totalling £2654.90 purchased by Owain Llyr.

Over thirty months topped at £2598.96 and 331.5p/kg for a 784kg Limousin from Messrs Leach, The Street, Ravenstonedale selling to Messrs Ashford.

The dairy section topped at 349.5p/kg for a 654kg Fleckvieh cow totalling £2285.73 from Messrs Marston, South View, Winton.

Black and white cows topped at £1816.43 and 289.5p/kg for a 674kg Frisian cow from Messrs Slack, Stoneriggs, Hilton.
