SALE OF STORE CATTLE

TUESDAY 13^th JANUARY 2026

On Tuesday 13^th January Harrison and Hetherington conducted its opening sale of store cattle in Middleton in Teasdale Market.

A catalogued entry of 80 went onto average a mouth watering £1889.01 (+£394.57). a big thank you goes to our customers for once again showing an unrivelled quality of cattle ensuring Middleton returns top of the tree of suckler cattle. A simply breathtaking show was seen and an average age of 9 months is a credit to the area. Heifers averaged £1857.04 (+486.67)and bullocks averaged £1908.64 (+337.48).

A big thank you goes to our Judge Mark Wells for judging. Champion went to the first place steer from David Mallon who sold his black Limousin for £2280. Reserve champion went to Malcolm Dent, Wythes Hill selling his second prize steer to £2260.
