Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 28th January Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of 262 at Borderway.  A smaller show on offer but trade continued to keep up.  The sale topped at £970 for an Angus bull from Messrs Campbell, Carsewalloch.  They also sold to £900 (x2), £880 and £820.  Limousins sold to £940 from Messrs Fingland, Port Tarbreoch.  J D Faulder, Croft House sold three, 2 month old Limousin bulls to £850.  Messrs Bailey, Moorhouse Hall sold British Blues to £830.  Messrs McKie of Stoneybrook had a Limousin to £810.  Reay Farming, Carlisle also sold Limousins to same price.

Heifers topped at £710 from Messrs Imrie, Harelawhole for a British Blue. BF Farm Ltd, Longtown had them at £690 and £630 (x2).  Messrs Bailey, Moorhouse had one month British Blue heifers to £650.

Black and whites sold to £510 for a Holstein from JD Greenop, Bridgebank.  Two month old Montbeliardes sold to £500 from JA Jenkinson, Fordsyke.  HW Moore, Brayshaw sold the same age to £480.  AV Elwen, Netherfield had Holstein to £450.
