On Wednesday 28th January 2026 Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of 428 store cattle. Despite pressure on finished prices trade was flying for all classes with plenty activity ringside with an overall average of £2046.97. Heifers led the way this week with two vendors sharing the top spot at £2520, firstly for a fantastic Beef Shorthorn heifer from Messrs Dobson, West End, Allonby which was matched by as good of a Charolais x heifer as we have seen in some time from Messrs Grieve, Whiteside, Hexham. Bullocks followed closely with the leading dairy bred British Blue from Messrs Holliday, New Bampton, Wigton selling to £2500 with this being matched by a strong Limousin from Messrs Grice, Newtown, Carlisle.
