Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their February Beef Breeding Cattle Sale.

Topping the sale at £5750 was a Limousin cross heifer with a calf at foot from Messrs Maughan, New Hall Farm, Bishop Auckland which was bought by Messrs Dobson, White Kirkley Farm, Frosterley.

This home also sold Limousin cross heifers with calves at foot to make £5000 twice, £4650 and £4550, with British Blue cross heifers with calves selling to £4950, £4750, £4700, £4100 and £4000.

Messrs Elliott, Bank House, Penrith sold a British Blue cross heifer with calf at foot to £5450, with this home also selling Limousin cross heifers with calves to £5400 and £5200 twice and £5150, with a British Blue cross heifer with calf making £5200. The consignment of six out fits from this home sold to average £5266.66.

Messrs Hird, Crackpot, Richmond sold Limousin cross heifers with calves to £5150 and £4350.

Messrs Porter, Riddings Farm, Reeth sold homebred British Blue cross Friesian heifers with calves at foot to £4700 and £4400.

Messrs Atkinson, Green Farm, Colby sold British Blue and Limousin cross heifers with calves at foot to £4350 and £4250.

In-calf heifers topped at £4700 for a Limousin cross from the annual consignment from Messrs Bradley, Penny Grange, Settle.

This home also sold Limousin cross in-calf heifers to £4400 twice, £4100 and £4000 with British Blue cross in-calf heifers from this home selling to £4450, £4250 and £4200. The consignment of ten in-calf heifers sold to average £4200.
