Kirkby Stephen OTM & Cast Cows

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their sale of cast and OTM cattle when 45 head were forward.

Topping the sale at £2891.61 and 400.5p/kg was a British Blue cross cow from Messrs Atkinson, Green Farm, Colby.

Messrs Brown, Asby Hall, Great Asby sold a ten year old Limousin cross cow to make £2691.84 and 350.5p/kg at 768kg.

Messrs Harker, Grayrigg Hall, Kendal sold an eight year old pure Limousin cow to £2581.88, with this home also selling a Limousin cow weighing 665kg to make 376.5p/kg and £2503.73.

Messrs Fletcher, East Friar House Farm, Barnard Castle sold a Limousin cross cow to top at 389.5p/kg at 646kg totalling £2516.17.

Messrs Whitehead, Hole House, Sedbergh sold a four year old Limousin cross cow to make £2545.75 at 850kg and 299.5p/kg.

Beef shorthorn cows topped at £1993.25 and 297.5p/kg for a 670kg cow from Messrs Wearmouth, Gillses Farm, South Stainmore.

Holstein/Friesian over thirty months topped at £2047.40 and 325.5p/kg at 629kg from Messrs Beck, Townfoot, Langdale.

This home also topped the dairy cows at £1917.54 for a five year old Friesian cow.

All classes and breed of cast and over thirty month cattle were a flyer and many more could have been sold to a competitive ringside of buyers!

21 Limousin cross cows forward sold to average a whopping £2204.56 and 310.8p/kg!

An overall sale average of 294.6p/kg and £2077.80 was achieved!
