Borderway Weaned Cattle Sale

On Wednesday 18^th February Harrison & Hetherington conducted their sale of weaned bulls and stirks in Borderway.  A strong show was forward with 277 going on to average £1444.51.  Yet again another large show of 109 bulls were forward with all classes keenly bid for.  Topping the sale went to a Simmental bull from Messrs Sanders, Bavington Hill Head to £2420.  Messrs Langcake, Sandhills topped the Limousin section selling a single 11 month old bull to £2390.  Beef Shorthorn topped at £1600 from Robert Muirhead, Lanark.  A smaller show of steers were present with a section average of £1649.41 being achieved.  Topping went to a single Limousin from £2160 from Messrs Thomlinson, Raughton Head. Angus steers topped at £1860 from Messrs Armstrong, High Moat. British Blues topped at £1880 from Craig Routledge, Netherton selling 14 to average £1714.19.

Heifers topped at £2070 for a Limousin from Ian Armstrong, Shankfield.  Messrs Nichol, Lawston sold a fancy Limousin heifer to £2020 selling 6 to average £1931.67.  British Blue’s topped at £1910 from Craig Routledge and Salers sold to £1390 from Messrs Strick, Wigton.
