Borderway Store and Breeding Sheep Sale

On Monday 23rd February Harrison & Hetherington sold part 2 of the Tedcastle Dispersal here at Borderway.  Another show of 350 were forward consisting mainly of in lamb mule hoggs and continentals

The Sale topped with a fancy pen of continental hoggs with singles selling to £270,  Shearlings Texels topped at £262 from Messrs Gilhespy with twins and the same home sold mules shearlings to £255.  Messrs Bowman, Brampton Fell sold 20 in lamb twin mule shearling to £250.  Messrs Waugh, Albyfield sold 14 Texel ewes to £254.

The first ewes and lamb were present with top price going to Messrs Gilhespy selling 3 three crop with single Texels lambs to £152 a life.  The same home sold mules with twins to £130 a life.  Jack Elliott, Kirkhope sold some Dutch Spotted ewes with twin to £135 a life.

Store lambs averaged £110.76 with top price going to Messrs Jamieson, Lockerbie selling Texels to £166.  This run of 22 went on to average £151.45.  Messrs Armstrong, Blunderfield sold 18 Texels to £118 and finally the team at Wanwood Hill sold some Blackfaced lambs to £98.
