Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 4^th March Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves with 337 forward.  Trade topped at £1150 for a pair of Charolais from Messrs Ogden, Pears Ghyll Farm   The British Blue section saw 4 calves over £1000 today with 2 at £1040 from Ellaway Ltd, Elephant Farm, and 2 at £1000 from Messrs Reed, Moss Side House.  J & D Martin, Boggle Hall topped the Limousin section with a really smart bull calf at £990.  Messrs Wood & Son, Groundy Croft topped the Angus section at £920.  Friesians sold to £780 for a strong pair of bulls from Messrs Sloan, Panlands Farm

Messrs McCreery topped the heifers at £1000 for a strong British Blue heifer.  Messrs Ogden, Pears Ghyll Farm topped the Aberdeen Angus heifer section at £840.  A pair of 3 month old Limousin heifers came to £750 from Messrs Capstick & Sons, Duckintree.
