Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 11th March Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of 322 calves.  Trade was flying from beginning to end, with majority of the Show being Black & Whites and grassbred types.  Carlisle calf ring continues to lead the local trade reaching over £1000 5 times.

Trade topped at £1100 for an Angus bull from R Moore, Wallhouses, this home also sold to £1060.  Messrs Marshall, Brownrigg sold a fantastic 3 month Limousin bull to £1070.  Messrs Ogden, Pears Ghyll sold a Charolais bull to £1010.  D & M Irving, Wiggonby sold a Limousin bull to £1000. 

Heifers toped at £900 x 2 for British Blues from Englishtown Farm.   Messrs Campbell, Carsewalloch topped at £880 x 2 also for Blues.  Messrs Vance, Portyerrock also sold to the same price.  D & M Irving sold a Limousin fort £870.  Turnbull Farming topped at £810 for heifers.

Dairy sired calves topped at £890 for a Fleckvieh from Messrs Vance, Portyerrock, they also sold to £790 x 2.
