Tuesday 10th March saw the monthly sale of store cattle in Middleton market. A catalogued of 104 going on to average £1806.95 (+ £206). Steers once again met a fantastic trade however plainer heifers met some resistance compared to recent sales. Steers went on to average £1861.49 with top prices going to local supporter Malcolm Dent, Wythes Hill selling steers to £2120. M/s Walton, Bowes Close Farm sold some great Limousin steers to £2090 & £2030 selling 3 to average £2016.67. Heifers went on to average £1725.88. Topping this was a sweet Limousin from Alison & Neville Bainbridge, Laneside selling to £2160. British Blue heifers topped at £2000 from Simon Bentley, Lanehead. Many more needed to satisfy demand in Middleton.
