Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart Held Their Weekly Sale of Prime Sheep on Tuesday Evening when 4,889 sheep where forward consisting of 4,432 Prime Hoggs and 457 Cast Sheep.

Topping the sale at £243 for a pair of Beltex cross hoggs from Messrs Thompson, Stainby House Farm, Grantham. This home also sold 47kg Beltex cross hoggs to £240, a pen of thirteen 46kg at £231. With Texel cross hoggs from this home selling for £231 for a pen of five 66kg, £230 for a pen of 15 58kg and £228 for a pen of 12 56kg.

With this consignment selling to achieve £223.50 and 423.3p for 213 Hoggs weighing 52.8kg.

Topping at 593.6p/kg and £231.50 was a pen of twenty 39kg Beltex cross hoggs from JoJo Andrews, Boscar Flats. With this home also selling a pen of twenty four 40kg Beltex cross hoggs for £237 (592.5p), and a pen of sixteen 40kg Beltex selling for £227 (567.5p). a pen of thirteen 41kg hoggs £227 (533.7p), a pen of nineteen 40kg hoggs selling for £226 (565p) and a pen of seven 44kg hoggs selling for £223 (529.5p)

With this consignment selling to achieve £220.69 and 554.1p for 69 Hoggs weighing 39.8kg.

Messrs Mason, East Farm, Malton sold a pen of twenty 41kg Beltex cross hoggs £241 (587.8p). With a pen of twelve 41kg making £239 (582.2p) and a pen of nine 44kg making £237 (538.6p).

With this consignment selling to achieve £228.45 and 534.6p for 100 Hoggs weighing 42.7kg.

Messrs Birkbeck, Castle Hill, Kirkby Stephen sold nine 38kg Beltex cross to make 581.6p (£221).

Messrs Sayer, Town End Farm, Hackthorpe sold a pen of five 67kg Texel hoggs to make £240.

Messrs Patchett, West Summerside, Ripon topped at £227.50 for a pen of twenty 64kg hoggs, with another pen of twenty 60kg making £225.50 and another pen of 55kg making £220. This fantastic run of 721 Texel out of mule hoggs sold to average £213.81, 384.8p for 55.6kg.

Suffolk hoggs topped at £229 for a pair from Messrs Slack, Stoneriggs.

Messrs Patterson, Coupland Beck sold a pen of twenty six 43kg Suffolk hoggs making 452.3p (£194.50).

Cheviot hoggs topped at £211 for 54kg from Messrs Kiernan, with this home also topping at 452.4p for a pen of thirty four 41kg Cheviots making £185.50, a pen of twenty eight 47kg making £198.50, a pen of twenty 44kg making £195 (443.2p), a pen of twenty two 44kg making £194.50 (442p) and a pen of thirty eight 41kg making £185.
