Borderway Calf Sale

 

On Wednesday 18th March Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves when a fantastic 3 month old British Blue heifer from Messrs Irving, Meinbank sold for £2250. This was purchased by Cadzow, Duncrahill.

The whole sale was a flyer, with 6 calves selling to over £1000 and 10 over £900. New Vendors and buyers flocked from both sides of the border to take advantage of the unrivalled ringside and quality of stock.

Bulls topped at £1160 and £1060 for British Blues from Messrs Hornby, Laggonmore. Coopon Carse Farm topped at £1060 for British Blues. BF Farm Ltd sold to £1010. Messrs Reed, Moss Side sold to £1005. Messrs Bailey, Moorhouse Hall Farm sold 1 month old Blue to £865. RG & MJJ Farish sold a 1 month old Aberdeen Angus to £770.

Heifers sold to £2250 from Messrs Irving, Meinbank. Coopon Carse Farm sold to £1000 for a British Blue. Messrs Forster, Weary Hall Style sold 3 to £940 each for Limousin heifers. BF Farms Ltd sold to £900. Messrs Dodd, Keepershield sold a 1 month old Aberdeen Angus heifers to £810.

Black & Whites sold to £740 from Messrs Vevers, High Plains, they also sold another to £620. One-two month old Black & Whites regularly traded between £200-£300
