On Wednesday 25th March Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of 340 calves. Trade continued to fly, with the best of strong types regularly making £850 to £1000 and young calves £600 to £800. Trade topped at £1200 for a cracking Blue bull from Wadsworth Farming. This home also sold to £1150 and £1140 for Angus bulls. Messrs Airey, New Grange topped at £990. Messrs Beard, Dormanstead sold a great run of 2 month calves to £940, £900 and £808 for blue bulls. Turnbull Farming topped at £890 at 2 months. Messrs Gillespie, High Ploughlands sold a fantastic run of Charolais bulls at 1 month to £810, £800 x2. Messrs Allen, Grains sold 1 month Limousins to £770. Galloways topped at £700 for 2 months from Messrs Rome, Kirkbog.

Messrs Airey, New Grange topped heifers with an Angus at £890. Dormanstead sold 2 month blue heifers to £890, £880 and £860. Gillespie, High Ploughlands had Charolais heifers at £880. Messrs Winters, West House sold to £870 for Blue Heifers. Messrs Morris, Greengatehouse sold Angus heifers to £850.

Black and whites told to £780 for a 3 month Friesian from the Beards, Dormanstead. Messrs Purdie sold to £580 and Ayshires topped at £560, £550 and £540 from Messrs Cartner, Low Ploughlands.
