Borderway Store and Breeding Sheep Sale

On Monday 30th March Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of store lambs and breeding sheep took place.  A similar show of store lambs were forward with a sale average of £117.32 being achieved.  The sale topped at £164 for a single Texel from David Morrow, Silloth.  Messrs Gibson, Lanark landed with a full artic and was rightly rewarded.  This home sold a pen of 38 blackfaced lambs to £118.50, Suffolks to £150 and a pen of 20 Mules to £128.50.  Many more lambs could have been sold to advantage.  

A smaller show of ewes and lambs were forward with a sale average of £143.45 being achieved with top price going to a 2 shear Blue Texel ewe with twin gimmer lambs to £200 per life from Messrs Watson, Millriggs.  Dutch Spotted aged ewes topped at £115 for an ewe with twins from Messrs Jamieson, Strathhaven.  Shearlings topped at £130 Dorsets with Dutch Spotted lambs from Jim Dotchin, Cumcatch.   In lamb hoggs topped at £180 for Texels from David Morrow, Silloth.
