SALE OF STORE CATTLE

On Wednesday 1^st April 2026 Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of store cattle. Yet another increased entry of 452 store cattle forward at Borderway’s weekly sale where we saw a whole sale average of £2047. Jaws dropped and bulging eyes were the scenes of the vendors today as all classes were outstanding to sell and cattle were a dream to sell topping at £2680 was an Aberdeen Angus cross from weekly vendors Messrs Magnay, Greenwrae, Gretna this was a dairy bred steer. There were plenty good runs of cattle forward today and all predominantly dairy bred. Topping the Limousins at £2490 were Messrs Batey, High Knells. Three Charolais to £2470 from Messrs Nixon, Blackrigg, Herefords at £2450 from Messrs Slack, Cockleybank, Brampton and British Blues to £2440 from Messrs Coates, Beckhall, Canonbie. Heifers sold to a top of £2480 for a 22 month old Limousin cross from Wester Ulston Beef, Upper Hundale, Jedburgh. Charolais to £2430 for a paid at 24 months old from Messrs Hiddleston, Newmains, Dumfries. Aberdeen Angus to £2370 from Messrs Graham, Carleton Hill, Carlisle and British Blue crosses to £2360 for 21 months old from Messrs Foster, Solway View, Wigton.
