Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 8th April Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves.  Trade topped today at £1320 for a fantastic 2 month old Limousin bull from Messrs Walton, Trough End. Messrs Gillespie, High Ploughlands had Charolais bulls to £1270 and £1160.  Wadsworth Farming sold their usual top quality to £1120 for a Blue bull then £1100 (x2), £1090 (x3) £1080 and £1040 with Limousin at £940.  Messrs Sisson, Grainhead sold to £1000.  Messrs Ramsey, Lodge of Kelton had Aberdeen Angus to £980.  Messrs Hyslop, Meinside sold a 1 month Simmental bull to £830.

Heifers topped at £960 for a 6 week Limousin heifer from Messrs Cadzow, Duncrahill.  Thackwood Farms sold to £860 for British Blue heifer.  Hardgrove topped at £850 for British Blue heifers.  Messrs McKie, Stoneybrook sold to same price.

Holstein topped at £740 from Fisher Farming, Smalmstown, they also sold to £670 (x2).  Ellaway Ltd, Southwaite topped at £650 (x2).
