Borderway Store Cattle Sale

On Wednesday 8th April 2026 Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of store cattle.  A larger show of 650 store cattle were forward this week in Borderway, the overall feel ringside from buyers was the cattle lacked the power we have seen of late, but were extremely well bid for throughout.  The highly anticipated consignment of 80 yearling cattle from Messrs Donger,  Seawell Ground Northamptonshire really caught the imagination with their average incredibly rising £254.68 on the year to level at £2088.19.  An overall sale average of £1940 shows an  absolutely incredible result with many smaller dairy bred cattle being represented.  Top call was £2700 for an amazing pure Limousin heifer from Messrs Wallace,  Mains of Collin Dumfries , with bullocks selling to £2540 from Messrs Rome , Niven Hill, Gretna.
