SALE OF STORE CATTLE

TUESDAY 7^th APRIL2026

Tuesday 7^th April saw the monthly sale of store cattle in Middleton market. A catalogued entry of 82 was forward to average £1684. Top price of the day went to Messrs Sanderson & Bell, Valance Lodge for a Limousin heifer selling to £2200 with British Blue heifers topping at £1650 from Simon Bently, Lanehead. Trade for steers remained superb with an average of £1868 being seen. Topping was Messrs Tarn, Step Ends & Messrs Robinson, Middle Farm selling Limousin steers to £2020 respectfully. Messrs Atkinson, Market Place came with a sweet pen of cattle selling to £2000 for a single steer. British Blue steers topped at £1960 again from Simon Bently, Lanehead. Highlight of the sale went to Messrs Robinson, Middle Farm who sold 5 hardy Limousin heifers to £1600.
