Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 22nd April Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves.  A smaller show of 304 were forward, with milk calves £30-£40 dearer on the week.  Trade topped at £1080 for strong British Blue heifer from Hardgrove Farm.   Coopan Carse showed their usual quality to £1030 for a fantastic British Blue heifer.  This home also sold British Blue bulls to £1000 and Aberdeen Angus to £950.  Messrs Irving, Brunt Hill sold Limousin bulls to £980 and £970 (x2) with heifers to £920.  Messrs Naylor, Hill Green topped at £940 for Blue bulls with Limousin heifers to £870.  Messrs Vance, Portyerroch sold British Blue bulls to £940.  BF Farm, Longtown sold to £910 for Blue bulls.  Messrs Marshall, Brownrigg sold to the same price for Limousin bulls.  Bowe Dairy Farming, Chalk Lodge sold a cracking pair of 1 month old British Blue bulls to £750.
