On Wednesday 29th April 2026 Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of store cattle with another great show of 501 forward. Trade still not what it has been but on the week would look slightly improved. An overall average of £1878.42 was achieved with steers levelling at £1919.04 and heifers at £1822.14. A lot of smaller heifers and black and whites steers on offer as well. Top overall was an Aberdeen Angus steer from Messrs Palmer, Longrigg Thorn, Carlisle at £2490. Charolais to £2460 from Messrs Moffat, Stone House, Gretna who also sold top Limousin cross to £2320.
Heifers sold to £2330 for an Aberdeen Angus cross from Messrs Palmer, Longrigg Thorn, Carlisle. Limousins to £2280 for an 18 month old cross from Messrs Gibson, Southwoodhead, Canonbie, Messrs Bowman, Croft House, Penrith to £2260.
Black and whites sold to a top of £2130 for Friesians from Messrs Moscrop, Rye Close, Carlisle.
