SHOW & SALE OF BREEDING SHEEP

MONDAY 4th MAY 2026

On Monday 4th May Harrison and Hetherington conducted a show and sale of ewes and hoggs with lambs at foot with 1500 head sold to a good trade throughout with the best picked runs up £15-£20 on the year.

The Show was kindly judged by Bruce Norman, The Bow and the Champion pen of Continentals went to Messrs Livingstone, Kirtlevale for a fantastic pen of 5 Beltex cross hoggs with Beltex lambs at foot.  These sold to £260 to the Judge Bruce Norman.   This fantastic run of sheep also sold to £266 (x4) £242 x10 and £242 x2 for hoggs and £245 x2 £230 x6 and £224 x2 for Shearlings

Ewes topped at £182 for a Blue Texel and pair of lambs from Mandy Graham, Hillend.  Sue Mitchell, Saughtreegate also sold to £180.  Suffolk ewes topped at £166 from Mandy Graham, Hillend.  Mule ewes topped at £140 for aged ewes with Suffolk lambs from Messrs Rudd.

Texel hoggs sold to £240 from Messrs Whiteford, Tercrosset.  Winter Bros, Clickham won first prize Suffolk crosses and sold to £225 x10 and £220 x10.  Seymour Farms sold to £222 for Beltex with Suffolk to £205 x12.

Messrs Carr, High Wood topped at £205 for their usual quality Mule hoggs with sold to £162 for 20 lives form Messrs Harrison, Low House.
