SALE OF STORE CATTLE

On Wednesday 6^th May 2026 Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of store cattle. A good entry of 601 store cattle forward, this consisted of around 100 yearlings and the rest we all mid to short keep cattle. Trade would remail similar to that of last week but with a large ringside of buyers all classes were well bid for. Topping the sale overall was an outstanding 25 month British Blue cross heifer from Messrs Kitson, South Side at Yarm she sold to £3050. The same vendors also sold top priced Limousin cross at £2320 and Charolais to £2290 with Aberdeen angus heifers to £2140 from Messrs Palmer, Longrigg Thorn, Carlisle. Steers peaked at £2420 for a pen of 3 British Blue crosses from Messrs Kitson. Limousins to £2360 from Messrs Story, Blackrigg, Longtown, £2350 from Messrs Grieve, Whiteside, Hexham. Aberdeen Angus to £2330 from Messrs Palmer, Longrigg Thorn and £2310 for another from Messrs Crichton, Limekilns, Annan.
