Borderway Breeding Sheep Sale

On Monday 11th May Harrison and Hetherington conducted their weekly sale of ewes and hoggs with lambs at foot. Ewes and lambs were in big demand, with an older show forward compared to last weeks show & sale. Overall sale average of £140 with most ewes being 3-5 shr.

Top price today went to Messrs Smith-Jackson, Lipwood for a 2shr Texel ewe with a pair of Beltex lambs selling to £182 per life. This home also sold ¾ shr ewes with twins to £161, £154 and £150. Mule shearlings with twins from the same home also sold to £148.

Mule ewes with Suffolk lambs sold to £156 from Smith & Shepherd, Glebelands. Messrs Armstrong, Townhead sold 4shr Mules with twin Suffolks to £137. Messrs Ramsay, Dockray Hall sold Suffolk hoggs with Texels lambs to £162. Hampshire Down sold to £128 for a ewe with a pair from A & L Goldie, New Hoddom.
