The weekly sale of sale of weaned bulls and stirks in ring 4. A total of 327 were forward to once again meet a trade keeping up with previous weeks. A total sale average of £1323 was achieved leaving vendors once again delighted with how the day’s trading went.  A larger entry of 70 bulls was forward topping at £2260 for a single Limousin from Messrs Cleasby, Linden house. George Rome, Niven hill sold a single Limousin bull to £2220. Messrs Reid, Kirkburn brought two well shaped Limousin bulls to £2210 & £2160. Angus bulls topped at £1180 for a single dairy bred bull from Messrs Dalgleish, Bulls head. Dairy bred bulls topped at £980 for a pen of British Friesians from Messrs Weightman, high wood. Blue bulls topped at £1800 for a bull again from Messrs Dalgleish. Penrith.

Steers were once again a great trade with a average of £1427 being achieved. Topping went to a single Limousin steer from ring 4 loyalist Craig Johnson, Horsemoor hills selling to £2080. Blue steers topped at £1750 for a pen of 4 from Messrs Carr, Whiteclose Rigg. Simmental steers topped at £1820 from Messrs Dickinson, Penrith, Salers topped at £1790 for a trio of steers from Messrs Preston, Pallet hill. Angus steers topped at £1610 for two steers from Messrs Shuttleworth, Dumfries. Belted Galloway topped at £1440 for 3 steers from Ashley Thom, Newton Stewart.

Heifers went on to average £1324 for 169 sold. Topping went to a Limousin heifer from Eric Norman, little Orton selling a pure to £2010. Blue heifers topped at £1610 for 3 from Messrs Beaty, Newton Field. Angus heifers topped at £1460 for a pen from Messrs Dalgleish, Penrith. Simmental heifers sold to £1600 from Messrs Tallentire, Appleby.

Once again a great trade was seen in Ring 4 with a continued and growing ringside of buyers Present.
