Borderway Weaned Cattle Sale

A show of 42 bulls were forward with top price going to a Limousin cross bull from Messrs Maughan, Asby Mill selling to £1950, the same home topped the Blue bulls to £1820. Hereford bulls topped at £1400 from Messrs Mundell, Dumfries with the same home selling a large Angus bull to £1800. 

Steers averaged £1322.24 with top steer price going Messrs Todd, Longhurst selling a single Limousin to £1910. The same home sold steers to £1890 and £1800 and went on to average £1820 for 6 sold. Angus steers topped at £1510 from Messrs Langcake, Cockermouth and Blue steers topped at £1480 for a pen of 3 from Messrs Bainbridge, Carlisle.  Kate Evans, Wigton sold a super pair of Charolais steers to £1880.

Heifers topped at £2100 for a pure Limousin from Messrs Burns, Maybole and also selling heifers to £2080. Charolais heifers topped at £1560 from Messrs Holliday, Cleamire. Blue heifers topped at £1520 from Ally Mackintosh, Ravenglass. Simmental heifers topped at £1440 from Auchengray Farms and Angus heifers topped at £1350 for a single from Phillip Tindale, Haltwhistle.
