Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart Held Their Weekly Sale of Prime Sheep on Tuesday Evening when 1711 sheep where forward consisting of 932 Prime Hoggs, 247 Cast Sheep and 532 Spring Lambs.

Hoggs topped at £273 for 86kg Texel cross hoggs from Messrs Mark, Sunny Gill Farm, Ousby with this home selling pens Texels at 73kg to make £270, 63kg to make £260 (412.7p/kg), a pen of nine 51kg to make £250 (490.2p/kg) with another pen of nine 49kg making £235(479.6p/kg).

Messrs Smith, Kelmore Hill, Distington sold 58kg Beltex cross hoggs to make £260 (448.3p/kg) with a pen of 50kg Beltex hoggs also from this home making £231 (434.7p/kg)

Messrs Mark, Sunny Gill also sold a pen of eight 53kg Beltex hoggs to make £244 (460.4p/kg) and a pen of six 52kg to make £231 (444.2p/kg).

Scotch Blackfaced hoggs sold to £250 for a pen of five 58kg (431p/kg) from Messrs Addison, Greystone House, Kings Meaburn.

Messrs Mark sold pens of twelve scotch blackface hoggs at 56kg to make £240 (428.6p/kg) with another pen of eleven 56kg making £239(426.p/kg), ten 56kg making £238(425p/kg) and a pen of twelve 54kg making £237(438.9p/kg).

Messrs Williams, Adamthwaite, Ravenstonedale sold a pen of 37kg Blackfaced hoggs to make 454.1p/kg £168.

A pen of thirty-two 38kg Blackfaced hoggs from Messrs Lawson, Pasture House Farm, Wigton sold to make 442.1p/kg £168.

Messrs Ashley, Laitha Farm, Bolton sold a pen of six 54kg Lleyn hoggs to make £245 (453.7p/kg)

Cheviot hoggs sold to £240 (452.8p/kg) for a pen of 53kg from Messrs Birkbeck, Castle Hill, Soulby.

Mule hoggs topped at £213 for a pen of eight 49kg from Messrs Wood, Middle Ridge Farm, Out Rawcliffe.

Spring Lambs

A record breaking SQQ average of 527.5p/kg was achieved with a fantastic overall average of 523.7p was achieved which was up a whopping 74.9p on the week and £215.38 per head overall for 532 lambs forward.  More lambs are required on a weekly basis going forward with buyers now looking for numbers of lambs.

Spring Lambs topped at £271 for a pair of 53kg Suffolk cross from Messrs Williamson, Littleburn Farm, Hamsterley.

Topping the pence per kilo at 618.4p was a pen of seventeen 38kg Beltex cross lambs selling to make £235 from Charlotte and Georgia Davies, Top Field Farm, Leicester. This home also sold pens of Beltex lambs to £239 (612.8p/kg) for a pen of ten at 39kg, two pens of eight at 39kg at £237 (607.7p/kg) and £228 (584.6p/kg).

The consignment of forty-six Beltex cross lambs from this home sold to average a whopping 38.8kg £234.61 (603.24p/kg).

Messrs Pickard, Cheney House Farm, Leicester sold a pen of nineteen 42kg Beltex cross lambs to make £229.50 (546.4p/kg). With this home also selling a pen of sixteen 39kg Beltex cross lambs to make £228.50 (585.9p), a pen of twenty-two 40kg at £219.50(548.8p/kg), Nineteen 39kg at £217(556.4p/kg) and a pen of eighteen 39kg at £216(553.8p/kg).

The consignment of ninety-four lambs from this home sold to average 39.8kg £221.88 (556.92p/kg).

Texel lambs topped at £270 (551p/kg) for a pen of 49kg from Messrs Sowerby, Terrys Farm, Ormside, with this home also selling a pair of 46kg lambs at £259 (563p/kg) and a pen of seven 47kg making £247 (525.5p/kg).

Messrs Sowerby, Terrys Farm, Ormside sold a pen of 42kg Beltex cross lambs to make £227(540.5p/kg).

Messrs Lee, Carkin Moor Farm, Richmond sold pens of light weight Beltex cross lambs at 31kg to make £189 (609.7p/kg) for a pen of ten, with a pen of seven 34kg making £203(597.1p/kg)

Messrs Chippendale, Wharton Hall, Kirkby Stephen sold 46kg Suffolk cross lambs to make £240 (521.7p/kg).

Dutch Spotted lambs sold to £258 (460.7p/kg) for a 56kg lamb from Messrs Williamson, Little Burn Farm.

Messrs Scott, Brogden Farm, Northallerton sold a pen of six 46kg Texel lambs to make £235(510.9p/kg) and a pen of seven 47kg to make £233 (495.7p/kg).

Texel cross Mule lambs sold to £210 (500p/kg) for a pen of sixteen 42kg also from Brogden Farm.

Texel cross mule lambs sold to make £219.50 (498.9p/kg) for a pen of twelve 44kg from Messrs Ewin, Eden Flatt, Warcup.
