Borderway Store Cattle Sale

On Wednesday 10th June 2026 Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of store cattle  at Borderways weekly sale whereby trade would align with last weeks lift in trade, quite a few more younger cattle forward on the whole this week seeing them look a very good trade in comparison to the larger cattle.

Topping the sale overall for the second week running was Messrs Moffat, Stonehouse, Gretna with a cross steer selling to £2460, the same home sold top Limousin cross to £2390.  Aberdeen Angus crosses from James Magnay, Greenwrae peaked at £2300.  British Blue from Messrs Mounsey, Ward Hall Guards, Wigton to £2270.

Heifers averaged more that the steers this week to level at £1853.98, top overall went to Simmental cross from Messrs Potter, Cardew House, Carlisle at £2350.  Wester Ulston Beef, Upper Hundalee sold top Limousin cross to £2300 and £2200 followed by £2190 from Messrs McKie, Lawrence Holme, Wigton for another.  British Blues peaked at £2180 from Messrs Bell, Mossband Hall, Carlisle.
