Borderway Store Cattle Sale

On Wednesday 17th June 2026 Harrison & Hetherington had a good entry and sale of 299 Store cattle forward for this middle of June week.  Trade on the whole looked sharper on the week with a day’s overall average of £1896, topping the sale overall was a 24 month old Limousin cross steer at £2440 from Messrs Ritchie, Croftheads, Annan.  Messrs Inman, Allerbeck, Lockerbie sold best Charolais crosses to £2410 (x5) and £2340.  Messrs Rome, Niven Hill, Gretna sold second highest Limousin cross to £2350 for 16 months old.  Simmentals to £2270 for a pen of four from Messrs Milvern, Kirkland, of Longcastle Farm, Newton Stewart.  The same home sold a pen of five Charolais crosses to £2280 and their run of 20 averaged a fantastic £2201.00.

Heifers topped at £2260 for a 25 month old Limousin cross from Messrs Grice, Newtown, Carlisle.  Charolais to £2190 from Messrs Slack, Cockley Bank, Brampton.  British Blues to £2180 from Messrs Holliday, Newbampton, Wigton and Aberdeen Angus crossing sold to £2170 from Messrs Halliday, Broathill, Lockerbie.

Dairy bred cattle sold to a top of £2060 for a Fleckvieh from Messrs Slack, Cockley Bank and to £2040 from Messrs Mounsey, Wardhall Guards, Wigton.  Holstein to £1790 from Messrs Benson, Gill House, Wigton.
