Borderway Weaned Cattle Sale

The weekly sale of weaned cattle took place in Borderway in ring 4 with a smaller show of bulls forward topping at £2440 for a single British Blue bull from Messrs Reay, Maften.  Angus bulls topped at £2140 for a single from Messrs Lawson, Hallington.  Limousins topped at £1900 for a single from Messrs Norman, Carlisle.

Steers topped at £1810 from Messrs Fish, Wigton and Messrs Armitstead, Lockerbie.  Limousin steers topped at £1740 from Messrs Coulthard, Davygill. The same home sold Charolais bulls to £1770.  Blues topped at £1760 again from Messrs Reay, Maften. Fleckvieh steers topped at £1550 from Messrs Bainbridge, Carlisle.

Steers went on to average £1391.

Heifers averaged £1228.

Heifers topped at £1780 from Messrs Hamilton, Port William for a single Limousin. Angus heifers topped at £1550 from Messrs Slack, Penrith. Dairy bred stirks topped at £1500 from some Norwegian Reds from Messrs Pinguey, High House.  Blue heifers topped at £1660 from Messrs Enderby, Hexham.  Charolais heifers topped at £1510 for a trio from Brian Maltas, Moffat.
