Kirkby Stephen OTM & Cast Cows

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their sale of cast and OTM cattle.

Topping the sale at £2288.88 was a 816kg Limousin cross cow which made 280.5p/kg from Messrs Hughes, Dona Close, Asby.

Topping at 337.5p/kg was a 613kg British Blue cross Black and white steer which totalled £2068.88 from Messrs Beck, Townfoot, Longdale.

This home also sold Holstein/Friesian steers to 290.5p/kg and £1754.62.

Cast cows topped at 307.5p/kg for a Limousin cross from Messrs Maughan, Clockeld, Great Asby.

All classes were a flying trade being far dearer than of late, many more can easily be sold to great advantage here at Kirkby Stephen with an overall average of 275.5p/kg being achieved.
