On Monday 20th July Harrison and Hetherington conducted their weekly sale of store lambs. An overall average of £127 was achieved for the first store sale of the year, a jump of £18 on the year. Trade topped at £158 for Texel lambs from Messrs Clark, Pennyhill with others from this home at £154 and £137. Messrs Whitfield, Batey Shields topped at £139 for Texels and Suffolks sold to £125 from Messrs Clark. Swales sold to £116 from Messrs Hague, Mill Street. Messrs Campbell, Carsewalloch had Beltex to £130, £127 and £125. Cross lambs sold to £144 from Messrs Dixon, Whinneyhill.
More could have been easily sold to a packed ringside at Borderway.
