On Monday 27th July Harrison and Hetherington conducted their weekly sale of store lambs. A nice show of genuine store lambs were forward selling to average £118. Biggest lambs were harder sold due to the falling fat trade yet smaller lambs were easily cashed. Topping today at £137 were Suffolks from Messrs Dean, Talkin Head. Beltex sold to £132 for a pen of smart lambs from Messrs Armstrong, Blunderfield. Messrs Walton, Goodie Hill sold Beltex lambs to £124 and £121. Texels topped at £126 from Messrs Brass, Espland. B & P Wheatley sold Mule lambs to £120. Rough Fells sold to £102 from Messrs Metcalfe, Carleton.
