Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their February Beef Breeding Cattle Sale.

Topping the sale at £4800 six year old Limousin cross cow with Limousin Bull calf at foot from Messrs Philipson, Glebe Farm and was purchased from Messrs Ridley, Ranbeck, which was part of the dispersal from Kenny Philipson who we give great appreciation for entrusting us to conduct the dispersal sale.

Also from this home was a five year old Limousin cows with a Limousin bull calf at foot selling to £4600 and was purchased Messrs Buckle, Bleathgill.

British Blue cows from this home sold to £4300 second calved with a bull calf at foot selling to Messrs Story, Kirklinton.

This home also sold a Limousin cross cow with steer calf at foot to make £4050 also selling to Messrs Story.

The consignment of cows and calves ranging from second calvers to fourteen year old from Messrs Philipson sold to average £3600.

A consignment of Pedigree Beef Shorthorn cows with calves at foot topped at 4150 for a three year old heifer with heifer calf at foot from Messrs Akrigg, Manor House Farm, Skipton and sold to Messrs Heath, Chester. This home also sold a five year old cow with heifer calf at foot to make £4000 selling to Messrs Bailey, Far Bank End, Appleby, also from this home was a three year old heifer with heifer calf at foot making £3900 also selling to Messrs Bailey.

This consignment of pedigree shorthorn outfits attracted an army of pedigree breeders to Kirkby Stephen which sparked a bidding frenzy with the consignment of six outfits selling to average £3641.66.

Messrs Atkinson, Moser Farm, Kendal sold a Limousin cross heifers with bull calf at foot to make £4000 the heifer was previously purchased out of Kirkby Stephen suckled calf sale. And was purchased by Messrs Watson, Barnard Castle.

Messrs Ousby, Bents Farm, Newbiggin on Lune sold a Limousin heifer with Limousin bull calf at foot and a British Blue heifer with Limousin heifer calf at foot both to make £4000 selling to Messrs Bindloss, Shap.

Heifer with calves at foot sold to average £3701.82, cows with calves at foot sold to average £3333.33.
