Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart Held Their Weekly Sale of Prime Sheep on Tuesday Evening when 2420 sheep where forward consisting of 1632 Spring Lambs and 788 Cast Sheep.

Spring lambs

Topping the sale at £229 (532p) was a pen of six 43kg Beltex cross lambs from JoJo Andrews, Boscar Flats, York.

With this home also selling a pen of nine 43kg Beltex cross lambs to make £227 (527.9p), a pen of five 46kg to make £219 (476.1p) and a pen of five 43kg making £208 (483.7p).

This home sold 29 Prime Lambs to achieve 485.1p (£217.10) for 44.8kg.

Topping at 539p was a pair of 41kg Beltex cross lambs (£221) from Messrs Blandford, Mayfields Farm, Ledbury.

With this home selling a pen of 43kg Beltex cross lambs to make £219 (509.3p), a pen of eight 41kg to make £215 (524.4p), a pen of three 41kg to make £210 (512.2p), a pen of seven to make £206 (515p) and a pen of eight 40kg making £201 (502.5p).

This home sold 58 Prime Lambs to achieve 499.4p (£200.71) for 40.2kg.

Texel cross lambs sold to £197 (358.2p) for 55kg from Messrs Scott, Brogden Farm, Northallerton.

JoJo Andrews, Boscar Flats, York also sold a pen of four Texel cross lambs to achieve £186 (357.7p) for 52kg.

Suffolk lambs sold to £181 on two separate occasions for 54kg and 55kg from Messrs Jackson, East View, Penrith.

Messrs Barker, Middle Bank End Farm, Appleby sold four 48kg Ryeland lambs to make £170 (354.2p).

Messrs Allinson, West Briscoe, Barnard Castle sold 51kg Mules to make £163.50 (320.6p).

Mule lambs sold to £165 for a pen of five 50kg (330p) from Kilnstown Farm, Carlisle.

The overall SQQ for 1632 lambs sold was 342.28p.

Leicester ewes topped at £216 for a pen of four from Kilnstown Farm, Carlisle.

Suffolk ewes sold to £199 for a pen of three from Messrs Slee, Street House, Kirby Thore.

Cheviot ewes sold to £185 for a pen of four from Messrs Bell, Bridge Farm, York.

Mule ewes topped at £171 from Messrs Raine, Stanhope Gate, Middleton in Teesdale.

Messrs Jenkinson, Whingill, Kirkby Stephen sold a pen of ten Lleyn ewes to make £170.

Swaledale ewes topped at £120 on two separate occasions, firstly from Messrs Hayton, Asby grange and from Messrs Thompson, East Unthank, Haltwhistle.

Cast rams topped at £200 for a Beltex cross tup from Messrs Gargett, Westwick Farm, Barnard Castle.
