A great sale of 377 store cattle forward at Borderway’s weekly sale. The sale levelled to average at a highly notable £1980.17, All classes looked sharper once again and more could be sold to vendors advantage. Topping the sale overall at £2520 was a 22month old Limousin cross steer from Messrs Fisher, Lairdlaugh, Castle Douglas, Messrs Beattie, Rattlingate, Carlisle showed some from their annual consignment to a top of £2480 and to average £2334.29 for 7, a pen of 4 Aberdeen Angus from Messrs Sloan, Stainton peaked at £2420 Charolais crosses to £2400 from Lairdlaugh Farm and best British Blues to £2380 from Routledge, Brackenhill Rigg and Messrs Hebson, Chapel Farm Carlisle.

Heifers very easily sold and peaked at £2350 for two Aberdeen Angus crosses from Messrs Armstrong, Randalinton, Carlisle. British Blues to £2320 from Messrs Irving, Meinbank, Lockerbie. Messrs Beattie, Rattlingate, Carlisle sold the top three Limousin crosses at £2300, £2290, £2000.
