Lazonby Sale of Store Sheep

2026 Kicked off in style with double the number forward from 2025. The standard is set….come & join the Lazonby buss!

Thursday 30^th July saw the opening of the 2026 season in Lazonby market. A catalogue entry of 1200 were forward to average £112 +4. A good show of sheep were forward with top stronger end being in strong demand with an increased entry of long term keep lambs meeting slight resistance compared to recent trading. An increase of 50% in numbers on the same sale last year, was a delight to see in the Eden Valleys leading sheep centre. Topping the sale went to a single Beltex from Willy Lee, Lintley selling to £200. The same home sold Texels to £162, £152 & £144. Blue Texel lambs topped at £140 from Messrs Hoodless, Ruckcroft. Messrs Watson, Croglin Low Hall sold Charollais to £120 & Hill Cheviots to £118. Mules topped at £116 for a pen of 10 from Simon Armstrong, Penrith. Highlight of the day went to Messrs Pickthall, The Mains selling 108 Suffolks to £134 a life.  

Many more needed to satisfy demand in Lazonby.
