Borderway Weaned Cattle Sale

The weekly sale of weaned bulls and stirks took place in a change of scenery selling through ring 1 this week. A quieter show of 63 bulls were forward with a very young show on offer with cattle mainly aged between 5-9 months. Topping the sale went to a single Limousin bull to £2120 from Mark Batty & Zoe Hall, Hawick. A trio of Angus bulls from Messrs Lancaster, Penrith topped at £1340. M/s Mattocks, Maryport sold some sweet Friesian bulls at 7 month to £900. Simmentals topped at £1240 from M/s Glendinning, Annan. Next week is Harrison & Hetheringtons Anniversary show and sale of Weaned bulls. 

A plainer show of stirks were forward with top price steer going on to make £1820 from Mark Watson, Alston. Angus steers topped at £1580 for a trio from M/s Jackson, Appleby. Some 8 month old Blue steers from M/s Simpson, Carlisle sold to £1150. Charolais steers topped at £1550 from M/s Slaven, Dumfries. Heifers topped at £1620 for a pair from M/s Murray, Brampton selling 6 to average £1573. Blue heifers topped at £1370 from M/s Clark, Millom. Angus heifers sold to £1500 from M/s Jackson, Appleby.
