Borderway Store Cattle Sale

Harrison and Hetherington held their Annual Anniversary Show and Sale of store cattle with an increased entry of over 250 head on the year.  Trade was flying right to the end with vendors well rewarded for the quality show of cattle forward.

Thanks to Mr Ricky Alder for undertaking judging duties this morning.  He awarded first prize Limousin x heifer and Overall Champion  to Messrs Priestley, Cracrop for a fantastic heifer selling to £2780.  Reserve Champion was the first prize Limousin x bullock from Messrs Twentyman, Osborne Farm, Wigton selling to £2850.    2^nd Prize Limousin x bullock from Messrs Hodgson, The Green sold to £2640 with other to £2570.

Messrs Beattie, Rattlingate sold to £2640 for a strong Limousin bullock.  Messrs Storey, Hillcrest sold a tremendous run of Limousin x bullocks to £2600 (x2) and £2590 averaging £2476.  Messrs Baty, Broomhills topped the Charolais section at £2580 for a cracking bullock.  Fisher Farming, Smalmstown sold their quality consignment to £2550 for a British Blue bullock with others to £2530 and an impressive pen of Limousin bullocks to £2490.  Messrs Wharton, Snade Farm sold a smart Limousin heifers to £2540.  Messrs Livingston, Kirtlevale topped at £2490 and £2450 (x2).  Mesrs Murray, Roughet Hill topped at £2460.  Messrs Boyren, Hill Park sold their annual quality consignment of 10/11 month old Limousin and Blue crosses to £2360 and averaged £2055 for 28 forward.

Overall vendors left delighted with buyers from across the UK ensuring all classes were well bid for.
