Lazonby Mart

A tremendous entry of 3,048 store sheep was forward at Lazonby Mart on Thursday, 27th August, achieving an impressive overall average of £112.43 – up £8 on the year.

The pre sale show was ably judged by Josh Blenkiorn, Yorkshire who placed Fisher & Daughters Holmwrangle as his overall Champion with their pen of outstanding Continental lambs. Reserve Champion was awarded to Messrs Purdam, Kurburn with their super pen of Mules.

A strong ringside of buyers ensured a competitive trade across all breeds and classes. Texel lambs topped at £150 from Fisher & Daughters, Holmewrangle Farm, with Blue Texels also reaching £150 from Brown, Bow Hall. Beltex lambs produced the highest breed average at £132.63. The selling included over 1000 Mule wethers averaging a season high of £112, leaving Lazonby once again the envy of others!”

With excellent demand and a strong buying attendance, Lazonby continues to deliver results for vendors.
